Brief Bio

Originally from the east coast, Marcia Wilson came to the LA area to attend college at USC and never looked back.  She earned all three of her degrees at USC.  As a proud Trojan, she has been teaching at the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work for over 30 years in both the MSW and DSW programs.  She is currently the Dean of Pathway Innovation and Institutional Effectiveness at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, where she serves as the Dean of Equity Initiatives including the Reentry Pathway, Employment and Career Success and Strong Workforce Programs.  She also works as a consultant for the Center for Nonprofit Management and owns a grant-writing, program evaluation and consulting business. 

She has have been involved in AUSD since she moved to the community in 2000, with her husband and two sons,  primarily through the PTA.  She served as a PTA president for four, non-consecutive, two-year terms, two at Emery Park and two at Alhambra High.  She also served for three years as Alhambra Council PTA President. 

Marcia is one of the founding members of the Alhambra Moors Football Boosters and served as president for two non-consecutive two-year terms (2008 – 2010 and 2015- 2017).  She assisted then Superintendent Laura Tellez with developing the policies for the effective management of booster clubs to mirror the successful fiscal practices of PTA.  She also served as the DAC (District Advisory Council)  Representative for Alhambra High School for six years (two 3-year terms).  She served on the Citizen’s Oversight Committee for Measure C and MM to oversee the completion of the bond construction at our elementary and high schools.  She has been an active member of the board of the Alhambra Educational Foundation for the past seven years.
