I joined PTA as soon as I enrolled my oldest son, Brandon, at Emery Park whenfamily moved to Alhambra in 2000.  I was President of Emery Park PTA and Alhambra High School PTA twice at each school; all terms were for two years.  I was also Council PTA President for three years, helping to provide leadership and guidance to all of the PTA Units in the Alhambra Unified School District.  It was during my time as Council PTA when I visited and became familiar with all 13 Elementary Schools and the three comprehensive high schools of AUSD.  During my 16 years of PTA membership and 11 years of leadership, I accomplished a lot including developing and leading educational seminars for parents, getting a grant to develop a PTA website in English, Spanish and Mandarin at AHS, planning and implementing numerous events including haunted mazes, family fun-fests, movie nights, spirit days and countless fundraisers. I am most proud of planning and hosting the first Founders Day Casino Night Gala, which has become a signature event for PTA to raise funds for scholarships.
